Established in 1993, Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe is part of the worldwide Fujitsu Group. It is a major supplier of broadband access equipment in Europe and is Fujitsu's worldwide design location for access network solutions – representing a centre of excellence for the development of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology. From its CSW base, Fujitsu designs, develops and manufactures telecommunications technology for the European market. The company’s advanced technology resulted in the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2005.
The company specialises in supplying access network solutions to telecoms operators and service providers across Europe. Its technology is installed in telephone exchanges and commercial premises, delivering broadband services to millions of homes and businesses. Fujitsu is playing a key role in the development of next-generation networks, contributing to BT’s 21st Century Network programme, and also provides network support services to telecoms operators.
Why CSW?
Since its inception, Fujitsu Telecommunications has been based in the West Midlands area. The central location’s transport systems enable good nationwide and international access, particularly for Fujitsu’s network support and field services. Other contributing factors include the skill base of the local workforce, the proximity to a number of universities, and the degree of support that the business has received from the regional development agencies. |
